WORKFLOW OF FABRICATING ALL-CERAMIC ZIRCONIA RESTORATIONS (ZIRCAD, LAVA, CERCON, SAGEMAX, ETC.) AT HT DENTAL ART

I. Material

– Genuine materials are supplied by the authorized distributor.

– A complete range of blocks is available to accommodate various specifications, from single unit to long-bridge structures, full contour and layering restoration.

II. Fabricating restoration

1. Designing

– By 3Shape and ExoCAD Software

– Designing a framework suitable for the final restoration process.

2. Milling restoration

– The PrograMill PM7 machine is the most modern milling machine from Ivoclar, offering the following advantages:

+ A high-power 5-axis milling machine

+ Hight speed milling

+ Superior surface quality, with clear detail restoration

+ Maximum precision

3. Sintering

After milling, the restoration will be cleaning and drying processes before sintering

Sintering machine Programat S2

– Using Programat S1 and S2 sintering furnaces: these are most modern sintering furnaces from Ivoclar.

+ The furnace temperature reaches up to 1600°C.

+ High-precision sintering results with stable sintering temperatures.

+ In addition to pre-programmed sintering cycles, the furnaces are equipped with modern software for customizing sintering programs to match materials and restorations. Whether selecting a fast or standard sintering program, for long-bridge or single units, high sintering quality remains unchanged.

+ The sintering process can be monitored through a mobile application.

4. Finishing restoration

After the restoration is finely adjusted with the appropriate grinding tool, and cleaning the restoration.

a. Full contour

Ivocolor

– Staining and glazing with Ivocolor:

+ The shade system within the IPS e.max all-ceramic system by Ivoclar is the most widely used all-ceramic system in the world, with a clinical track record of nearly 20 successful years.

+ Natural shade options for all-ceramic products: lithium disilicate glass ceramics, Zirconia, and layered ceramics (including metal-ceramic restorations).

+ Capable of creating specific color characteristics for restorations, such as mamelons, halos, opalescence, translucency, lifelike, in a natural way.

+ The color results remain stable without discoloration, providing a gloss that is compatible with the oral environment.

+ Low firing temperature (~710°C) – does not compromise the material quality of ceramics.

b. Layering restoration

IPS e.max Ceram ceramic powder.

– Layering with the IPS e.max Ceram ceramic powder:

+ It is a sintering ceramic powder used for layering on lithium disilicate glass ceramics and zirconia, ensuring optimal adhesion.

+ It has a special crystal structure that mimics the natural tooth structure. The consistent combination of various ceramic types in the e.max Ceram ceramic system provides the right level of translucency, brightness, and opalescence that complements the zirconia substructure, resulting in vibrant and desired color outcomes.

+ Layering is done in two firings, with a low firing temperature (~750°C) to ensure good control over the quality of the layered ceramic and the color of the restoration.
