IPS Ivocolor is a new universal Stains and Glaze range. It comprises the following materials:
-
- Shade pastes,
- Essence stain powders,
- Glaze powders and pastes and coordinated mixing liquids.
IPS Ivocolor Shade is suitable for adjusting the shade of dental restorations to match the A-D-Shade Guide. IPS Ivocolor Essence is used to apply individual characterizations. The materials of the IPS Ivocolor range are compatible with all the tooth-shaded press, CAD and layering ceramic materials from Ivoclar Vivadent. This means that dental technicians can now rely on only one system to do all their shading and glazing. The advantage is that these materials are used in the same way on all the ceramic materials, assisting dental technicians in increasing their work efficiency. Muddling up staining materials from different ceramic systems is no longer an issue. Costs can be saved as one range of stains and glazes does it all.
IPS Ivocolor allows the characterization materials to be used for all customization techniques. The range is suitable for:
-
- surface characterizations of restorations,
- adjusting the brightness of layering materials,
- shade characterizations in the layering technique and characterization of cut-backs.

These applications are suitable regardless which ceramic material from Ivoclar Vivadent you are using.
A single firing temperature of 710°C for both the stain and glaze firing process in the stain- and cut-back technique allows you to be even more efficient. Errors in selecting the correct firing program can be avoided. The stains and glazes of all the IPS ceramic materials (except for uncrystallized IPS e.max CAD restorations and CAD-on restorations) can be fired in only one firing cycle. For instance, IPS e.max Press, CAD and ZirPress restorations as well as IPS Empress and IPS InLine POM restorations can be fired in a single firing cycle.
The low firing temperature of IPS Ivocolor allows restorations consisting of different ceramic materials to be glazed in a single firing cycle. For example, the partially veneered and monolithic portions of a zirconium oxide restoration can be glazed in a single firing cycle at 710°C.
