Abstract:
In contemporary dentistry, besides certain functional requirements, the post-operative standards of aesthetics are getting higher and more sophisticated. Particularly, performing veneers and functional full-mouth restoration on Implant with a natural artificial gum is challenging. Therefore, to meet the patient’s expectations, doctors and dental technicians need to have an understanding not only of the color and optical properties of the tooth tissue but also of the characteristics of the natural gums; then apply the effects of dental ceramic and composite materials to create an optimal aesthetics, biological and functional restoration. This presentation provides the scientific basis of color applied in dental practice, the aesthetic effects of teeth and gums as well as the corresponding techniques to simulate them in dental restorations, especially veneers and full-mouth bridges on implants.
